Karyn MacKenzie Fajardo, MSW, LCSW
Licensed Clinical Social Worker - Counselor
Karyn is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in Arizona, Idaho, and Washington State. She graduated from the University of Washington School of Social Work-Seattle with her Master’s Degree, followed by the UW Certificate in Geriatric Mental Health. Karyn currently works with people 18 years of age and older, drawing on multiple approaches to help each individual reach their personal goals.
Karyn spent many years in healthcare, working with older adults and their family members. She has worked in Hospice and Palliative Care, Outpatient Oncology, the Acute Care setting, and Home Health. Her specialty areas of focus include anxiety, depression, grief therapy, stress reduction and management, medical illness, and helping create positive change in life.
Karyn’s approach to counseling and therapy is to create a working partnership with you, built upon mutual trust and respect. Techniques used include Mindfulness, Person-Centered Therapy, Rational-Emotive, Strengths-Based, Motivational Interviewing, Psychodynamic, Brief Therapy, and Solution-Focused Therapy. Journaling, meditating, or even just taking a walk can be part of your therapy plan. Karyn is also a Reiki Master, and can incorporate this spiritual healing modality into therapy as needed.
